There are many reasons I reload. Accuracy is chief among them, though economy can be compelling. Another benefit is to be able to load down increasing the flexibility of the firearm and increasing barrel life. Cowboy action ammo has made this less of a \hand loader's only\ domain in recent years. About equipment costs and payback periods, a number of years ago one of Bob's friends bought a .300 RUM. He also bought dies, powder, Nosler Partition bullets, primers, and unfired bulk brass. We had amortized his investment with 20 rounds!
